Lookup Randolph County Inmates

Randolph County inmate search records come from the county jail roster, sheriff custody channels, and state custody tools after a person leaves the local jail. A Randolph County jail roster search can show current confinement, booking information, charges tied to the booking event, and bail or bond details when available. The roster is not a conviction record, complete criminal history, or state prison locator. Inmate records should be checked through the right custody source and confirmed with the jail when release, bond, or court status matters.

Randolph County Inmate Roster

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office maintains the official confined inmate information for the county jail. Sheriff Gregory J. Seabolt is listed as the county sheriff, and the Sheriff's Office headquarters is at 727 McDowell Road in Asheboro. The detention center is a separate custody facility at 811 New Century Drive. The county confined-inmates page explains that the roster is provided for public information, lets users identify current inmates, and can show available booking and bail information.

The jail roster is limited to current Randolph County custody. It may change quickly and may not reflect real-time status. It also does not show court proceedings, full criminal history, or criminal status. The county states that the information relates only to the booking event and that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. For charge outcomes, use court records. For current bond and inmate-status questions, call the jail at 336-318-6625.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office homepage introduces the office as a full-service law enforcement agency and includes the sheriff's message.

Use Randolph County Jail Roster

The county provides two official roster links. One is sorted by date confined, and the other is sorted by last name. The public report title identifies it as the Randolph County Detention Center currently confined inmates list. The roster is generated automatically and the county research notes that it updates four times daily. A row can be clicked to show or hide inmate detail in the roster report.

  1. Open the Randolph County Confined Inmates page and choose the roster sorted by date confined or by last name.
  2. Use the date-confined view when recent bookings matter and the last-name view when looking for a known person.
  3. Open the inmate row to review booking, bail, charge, and status details that are available in the report.
  4. Call the jail before relying on bond, release, or transfer status because the roster can change quickly.

The confined-inmates page is the county's public doorway to the roster and its disclaimer language.

Randolph County Roster Fields

The roster is not a full search form in the captured public source. It is a generated report with two official sorting paths. That matters for users who expect a database with filters. The county offers list views, and the report behavior lets users open rows for detail. The search-field table below follows the researched roster behavior rather than inventing unavailable fields.

Randolph County Inmate Profile Fields

An inmate profile is a booking snapshot. It is not a conviction record, and it is not the same as the full criminal case file. Booking charges can later be amended, reduced, dismissed, indicted, or resolved by plea or trial in court. If the roster shows a charge, match it against the NC eCourts Portal or the Clerk of Superior Court before treating it as a final court result.

Randolph County Detention Center

The Randolph County Detention Center houses current county inmates. The detention page says expansion was approved to address overcrowding and the need for individual cells. Under Sheriff Greg Seabolt and the Board of Commissioners, the expansion increased capacity to 422 and expanded the facility to 101,091 square feet. RCSO App Inmate Features

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office app page says the free app is available in the App Store and Google Play. Search "Randolph County Sheriff" or use the myOCV share link. The app advertises current jail inmates, tip submission, push notifications, alerts and BOLOs, most wanted criminals in Randolph County, social media, news, events, sex offender research, and more.

The app is useful when mobile access is easier than a browser roster. It also groups jail inmates with public safety alerts and most-wanted information. Still, it does not replace direct jail confirmation. Call the detention center when bond, release, housing, or transfer information affects a visit, money deposit, or court appearance.

State Prison vs County Jail

Randolph County inmate records cover county custody. Once a person leaves the county jail for state custody, use the NC Department of Adult Correction offender search. The state locator searches by name or offender ID for state prisoners, probationers, and parolees. It includes current and historical information back to 1972, but it does not include county jail information. This split prevents a common search error: the county roster and the state locator answer different custody questions.

The NC DAC Offender Public Information Search is the state prisoner, probation, and parole locator.

Randolph County Inmate Visitation

Randolph County lists online visitation through PayTel Communications. The public detention page did not provide official per-visit minutes, an in-person schedule, dress code, or child-visitor rules in the reviewed source. Do not assume a local in-person schedule unless the jail confirms it. Use PayTel for online visitation and call the detention center for scheduling questions.

Randolph County Inmate Mail

Non-legal inmate mail must go to the mail-processing address shown on the county detention page image. The envelope must include facility name, inmate name, inmate ID number, and Facility ID 5165 or it will not be scanned. The envelope must also have a complete, legible return address with the sender's first and last name. The sender is responsible for postage, and mail with insufficient postage is refused.

Mail is limited to 10 pages or fewer per envelope, with pages no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches. Allowed contents include written or typed pages, photos, drawings, or greeting cards, but no Polaroids. Banned items include cash, personal checks, money orders sent to the processing center, glitter, glue, tape, three-dimensional elements, electronics, sexual or gang content, illegal or violent content, drug or alcohol content, nude or partially clothed photos, illegal substances, contraband, magazines, books, packages, publications, and originals of important documents. Approved mail is scanned for tablet access, and the physical mail is destroyed.

Legal mail and money orders must be mailed directly to Randolph County Detention Center, Inmate Name / Inmate ID Number, 811 New Century Drive, Asheboro, NC 27205. Legal mail must be marked "Legal Mail" and opened in the inmate's presence. After release, an inmate can request digital copies of scanned mail by emailing jailmail@randolphcountync.gov with the inmate name and ID number.

Randolph County inmates may possess items issued by staff or purchased through Kimble's Food by Design commissary. Approved personal items are generally limited to hygiene products and clothing issued on admission. Medication accepted by jail staff must be properly labeled and prescribed. When reporting to serve time, a person cannot bring anything except three white T-shirts, three pairs of white boxers for males, and three pairs of white socks. Booking Is Not Conviction

A Randolph County inmate record reflects a booking event and current confinement. It can overlap with Randolph County arrest records and court charges, but the roster does not prove guilt and does not replace court records. Charges listed at booking may later be changed by the District Attorney, grand jury, plea, dismissal, or judgment. The NC eCourts Portal and Clerk of Superior Court are the better sources for court dates, case events, dispositions, sentences, and costs.

For a person who has just been arrested, the roster may help confirm custody and bail information before the court file is easy to interpret. For an older case, the roster may show nothing because the person is no longer in local custody. Match the custody tool to the time period and the question being asked.
